About Sivan
Sivan Raviv is a video journalist currently working for Ynet News, Israel’s most popular news and content website. Born in Israel, and raised in Montreal, Sivan attained her master’s degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York City.
Her experience in journalism includes work for various international media outlets including Ynet News (Video), Jewish News One (JN1), The Wall Street Journal (Video), Reuters TV, BBC News (in their United Nations bureau), IBA TV News and the Jerusalem Post.
Sivan can operate as a “one-man band” reporter, writing, filming, editing and producing her own print, audio and video stories on deadline. She covers hard news as well as long-form news magazine pieces. While reporting in Israel, she’s covered mass social protests, elections, and military operations, including Operation ‘Cast Lead’ in Gaza (2008/9), the Israeli 2006 elections and subsequent war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon (2006).
In 2009/10, she served as an international media advisor to Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. In this capacity, she attended high profile meetings with heads of governments from around the world and was part of the minister’s official Israeli delegation to the EU, UN and U.S. Congress, among others.
Sivan speaks English, French and Hebrew fluently, as well as basic Arabic. In addition, she teaches broadcast journalism to first-year college students at Israel’s Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya [IDC].
