About Sivan

IMG_5974Sivan Raviv is a multimedia journalist, storyteller, and TV news anchor currently based in Tel Aviv. 

Sivan attained her master’s degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York City.

Her experience in journalism includes work for various international media outlets including i24News (TV), Ynet News, JN1, Fusion (ABC/Univision), Channel News Asia, Times of Israel, Perform Media, The Wall Street Journal (Video), Reuters TV, BBC News (in their United Nations bureau), IBA TV News, TLV1 (Radio), and the Jerusalem Post.

sivan+camOver the last decade, Sivan served as a video journalist for Ynet News, Israel’s most popular news and content website and was the Israel correspondent for JN1 TV, a 24/7 Jewish TV News channel, which broadcast on Satellite all over the world. These days, she anchors hourly news in English for i24news TV.

Sivan can operate as a “one-woman band” reporter, writing, filming, editing and producing her own print, audio and video stories on deadline. She covers hard news yet really enjoys working on long-form news magazine features and human interest stories. While reporting in Israel, she’s covered mass social and political protests, national elections, and military operations, including Gaza Operation ‘Protective Edge’ (2014), Operation ‘Pillar of Defense’ (2012), Operation ‘Cast Lead’ (2008/9), the Israeli 2013 national election, the 2006 national election and subsequent war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon (2006). She also covers the local tech scene and features Israeli start ups.

In 2009/10, she served as an international media advisor to Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. In this capacity, she attended high profile meetings with heads of governments from around the world and was part of the minister’s official Israeli diplomatic delegation to the EU, UN, the White House and the U.S Congress, among others.

Sivan speaks English, French and Hebrew fluently, as well as basic Arabic and Italian. In addition, she teaches journalism to undergraduate BA university students. 

On occasion, Sivan broadcasts and reports on the radio, she participates in panels and regularly meets and presents to foreign journalists visiting Israel. She hosts and interviews in some of Israel’s large conferences and events, including conducting all the in-house multimedia interviews at Israel’s 2013 Presidential Conference.
